We make too much of sex because we are afraid of it. We abuse God's
gift of sex by placing it out of context, removing it from the other
things that make it meaningful, e.g., gentleness, trust, sensitivity,
communication and commitment.
The performance becomes more important than the expression. The
meaning gets lost in the event. God's precious gift of sex is abused by
the sex act itself and it then begins to feed on itself. Compulsive sex is
only demonstrated loneliness!
Spirituality teaches me to see all things as part of God's gift of
"wholeness" and sex is an important part of this - but only a part.
God, in the awareness of my sexuality, may I discover a relationship
with myself, others and You.

Ok Vickie...was that a WHAT! like "what is sex?" or a WHAT! yes I like sex...LOL
I posted a post in my group on sex and so far one reply guess who...LOL
Well heck we were not raised up on any spiritual sexuality or at least most alkies I know!!
In our 4th step its there!! People say its no one's business but it was a big part of my recovery. Had everything to do with relationships. Having them, keeping them, so many things came out of doing a inventory on sex.
I believe that it is God given, and not to be taken lightly. In the 60's it was all about free love...well it ain;t the 60's and there ain't nothing free!
I did not take partners I took hostages. And today sex is not a fix, or a temp solution to underlying problems. Took a lot of work, and still working on it. But I have a balance today..and if there were no sex It would ok also.
