I've been trained by a bunch of Big Book Thumping Old Timers who taught me to always be ready to answer the question, What step are you working on, today? For me right now it's step 11, one of my favorites.
Hey, what step are you working on?

I'm working on Step 7. Humility never came easy to me. And I see no sense on finishing the step until I have a good sense of direction. I still have a bit of a problem of being just who I am today.

Depends on where I am, what I'm doing, and what's going on around me.
Actually, it's a question that I probably wouldn't have an answer for, because I don't go through my day consciously thinking about the steps. I just try my best to live by 'em.

Never have anyone ask that question....I am pretty private about my steps. I get into a lot of personal things with my sponsor that I would never tell anyone. I am on step 2. Starting over..but also since I have done them before I work 10, 11 and 12 daily..especially step 10 and 11.
Wonder what someone would say if they asked that question and you told them you took the elevator? LOL

Working on Step Seven. I think I might learn to like this step. Has a lot to do with humility. I have a lot to learn about humility.

I went to my home group meeting last nite which is a 12 and 12 study group, love it and we were on tradition 1 - Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon AA unity, and after what I have been thru the last few weeks it was right on, when I was new I had old timers tell me we really had 24 steps and I have never forgotten that for it is too true. Some say the steps are for the individual and traditions are for the group, but I have found they all work very well in my life when I am centered and in Gods hand. Today it kind of is like the steps work thru me and when I come to a problem intuitively I seem to know what the problem is and why, do I choose to correct it immediately, most of the time, but sometime nah - sometimes the olde control creeps in and tells me 'you can do it' and then I get into trouble, and I know it. Step 123 are best worked upon arising, never forget the 10th step at nite, and of course 11 and 12 for continuous sobriety. Thankyou for letting me share, God be with all of you.
