Posted - January 28 2003 : 5:15:29 PM Thanks Aries and welcome to Journey to Serenity. And who said alcoholics weren't persistent. Glad to hear that your obsession was removed also. Good thing you were persistent and obsessed with getting in. Hope to see you coming back now that you got a key.

Posted - January 28 2003 : 01:08:20 AM Hi everybody - You betcha thanks a bunch for the warning and information, I have gotten a couple of msgs, send them out and my retort is they are only a hoax, well if all these warnings are hoaxes, what's a person to do, big deal. Just get a good virus ejecter in your computer, stop sign is great, in case you are wondering who this is is, tis I the person that couldn't get in, even tho I knocked and knocked and nobody opened the door, finally I found the key - voila and it opened, just like sesame. Glad part of my problem was fixed, thankyou very very much. Proves one thing that easy does it always works, sure glad my obsession has been removed otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten on and by now be in jail, ugh what a thought. So far away, yet just a gentle remimder, to think the problem thru. God bless everybody and hang in there, go to meetings, don't drink, and call your sponser at least thats what I hear in meetings. Thanks for letting me share, luvya all.

Posted - January 27 2003 : 07:36:43 AM Heck! I feel better, now!! Thanks, Matt! ...Tell you a cute one? When my friedn and I got our first computers, this self-acclaimed expert helped my friend with hers? A while alter, she says she can't get her printer to print anything but black. So we open up the printer? The expert installed the ink cartridges, but neglected to take the tape off the color cartridge. Pretty dang cute! I felt pretty good that day, too! Sam

Posted - January 26 2003 : 01:28:15 AM You're in luck Sam - the learning curve ain't anywhere near as steep as some people like to make it out to be. It's a well-kept trade secret that just about any bozo can do what some people are getting paid big bucks to do!! I just wish I was one of the secret-keepers!!
Go figure.

Posted - January 24 2003 : 6:48:37 PM It takes a sick mind to create a computer virus. It takes an even sicker one to create a computer-virus hoax.
I received an e-mail from a friend once warning of a "virus" that included detailed instructions on how to remove it. This one was especially malicious. If you followed the instructions, you're computer wouldn't start again (or it would do strange things, depending on what you were using) after shutting it down because you'd deleted a part of the operating system!!
There's one floating around right now that will come as an e-mail with attacments that are the "removal tools" for the Klez virus. The attachments contain the virus!! The version I've seen contains a poor attempt to invoke the sacred name of Micro$oft in order to lend it an air of legitimacy. The programs to watch out for are called "sophont.exe" and "readme.exe". The readme.exe is a huge red flag - readme files are nearly always .txt files.
Go figure.

Posted - January 24 2003 : 3:54:15 PM I'm grateful that I am teachable today and able to learn. No matter what the situation is. Most of all out of this I learned, that even though it was an older sister of mine that sent that to me, because she was concerned, I should still check things out. And Carol thanks to you, I e-mailed my sister to let her know. Yet it is always better to be safe than sorry.
