Well I finally made it, yes. Perservience is the only way, and that is exactly how I was able to learn very well in the program, my sobriety date 5/16/81 and very grateful to God, AA and good people in the program that allowed me to go at my own pace. As my sponser always was pointing out, slow down Jackie, and I might add I didn't really get it right away - yes I was a speed freak, not the drug, but in a way it is - always in a hurry for something, never let a moment go by wasted, today I laugh at that and am very grateful for the patience of my fellow beings who taught me right. Thanks

Hey, jackieo!!
THANK you!!
I am ALWAYS in a hurry...for WHAT, I don't know!!
I like the saying that time takes time, and I know, intellectually, that that is true, but it seems like one of my (many) defects is impatience.
This reminds me that it makes more sense to enjoy the journey.
Today is one of my more balanced days.
On the unbalanced ones, I thrash and moan and am in a hurry!!
If I were more spiritual...
ARGH!! I don't have this program right...
Etc.
Thank you for the reminder to SLOW down and keep putting one foot in front of the other!!
Welcome!
Looking forward to knowing you better!
Sam

Welcome to JTS Jackie. And thank you for your post. I am always in a big hurry to get things done. Finding out that, not only do I have to slow done, but I have to pay more attention to what I am doing and what is going on. A lot more worked involved than what this alcoholic every expected. And a lot more time to get it done. Just have to keep remingind myself, it is a process and it is progrss not perfection. Yet constant
vigilance. Hope to read more posts from you, sharing experience strength and hope.
